Julissa Miro Quesada
Behavioral Health Manager
I was born in Lima-Peru and moved to Caracas-Venezuela when I was 10. I have lived in 6 different countries since and have made Los Angeles my home. My interest in psychology originated when I was only six years old and my best friend's mother whom I admired, shared with me that she was a psychotherapist. I began to ask the adults in my life about the profession and learned that my father's sister was also going to school to become a child psychologist. Both women were role models to me so I quickly became fascinated by the idea of a career in mental health and helping others. Personal reasons brought me to Los Angeles in 2003 where I completed my undergraduate and Master's Program in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University.

I was born in Valencia, Spain. At age 16 immigrated with my family to Venezuela. I had relatives living in Los Angeles and I started to visit in the late 70's. I decided to immigrate to California in 1983. After a career in the Financial world that took me to work for a fortune 500 in the health field. Inspired by my volunteering as an emotional support aid, I decided to go back to school and I received a BA in Psychology in 2006 from UCLA. I completed my masters in counseling at California State University, Northridge where I received my MS in Counseling. Later on in 2009 I came to the Saban Community Clinic to complete my internship. I never left. I was fortunate to be offered a part-time position that turned in a full-time position. SCC mission statement to tend to the underserved minorities captivated my heart and soul. Specializing in treatment of trauma and Women's health is at the core of my work at SCC. Working with the Latino community and undocumented immigrants is another great motivator.
