"Let's Get Real" Event Honoring Emmy-Winning Producer Thom Beers Raises More than $130,000 for the Clinic's Patient Care

06-10-2016

LOS ANGELES, Calif., June 9, 2016 – Approximately 300 reality television producers and executives attended the inaugural “Let’s Get Real” event honoring award-winning, veteran producer Thom Beers (Deadliest Catch) for his professional and philanthropic leadership. The event, held June 8 at the Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica, raised more than $130,000 for Saban Community Clinic’s patients.

Chaired by APA Partner and Head of Alternative & Factual Programming Hayden Meyer and co-chaired by ITV Entertainment President David Eilenberg and APA Partner and Alternative & Factual Agent Marc Kamler, “Let’s Get Real” successfully aligned the reality television industry with Saban Community Clinic and the reality it faces every day in providing affordable and/or free medical services to the most vulnerable citizens of Los Angeles.

With a career spanning three decades, Beers has been lauded for creating and producing such hit series as Deadliest Catch – which has earned 16 Emmy awards – as well as Ice Road Truckers, Storage Wars, Ax Men and many others. He most recently served as CEO of FremantleMedia North America, and previously as CEO of Original Productions (which he founded in 1998).

Proceeds from the event will benefit the clinic’s medical, dental and behavioral services for low-income and uninsured men, women and children.
